RecMac privacy policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

RecMac is built so that your meetings never leave your Mac. This policy describes exactly what the app does with data.

What RecMac records and stores

Where processing happens

All transcription (WhisperKit) and all summarisation (Apple Intelligence) run on your Mac. RecMac operates no servers and sends no audio, text or metadata to Ulstein Media or to any third party.

Network use

The only network access is a one-time download of the transcription model from Hugging Face on first use. No personal data is sent with that request beyond what any file download entails.

Analytics and telemetry

None. RecMac contains no analytics, crash reporting or tracking of any kind. Debug logs written on your Mac contain identifiers and processing state only, never meeting content.

Sharing

Data leaves your Mac only when you explicitly share or export it (the Share button, Copy as Markdown, Export all meetings). What you share, and with whom, is entirely under your control.

Your control

Delete any meeting from the app, or everything at once via Settings → Data & privacy → Delete all meeting data. Removing the app removes its container.

Children

RecMac is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be published at this address with a new date.
