RecMac support
RecMac is a local-first meeting recorder for macOS. Everything — audio, transcripts, minutes — stays on your Mac.
Common questions
RecMac doesn't offer to record my Teams / Zoom call. Open RecMac → Settings → Recording and make sure Offer to record when a meeting starts is on. If the meeting window's name should be read too, enable Also detect meetings running in a browser tab — this needs Screen Recording permission. The Today screen shows a notice with a one-click fix when detection is off.
The other side of the call isn't in the transcript. Recording remote participants needs macOS Screen Recording permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording → RecMac). After granting it, quit and reopen RecMac. Without it, only your microphone is recorded.
Minutes say "unavailable". Minutes, decisions and actions are written by Apple Intelligence on your device. It has to be enabled in System Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. Transcription works without it.
The transcript is in the wrong language. RecMac detects the spoken language automatically. To force one, set Settings → Local AI → Language.
Where is my data? In RecMac's sandbox container on your Mac. Settings → Data & privacy → Open recordings folder shows the audio; Export all meetings as Markdown writes every meeting to a folder you choose. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
A word or name is misheard every time. Right-click the line in the transcript → Correct a word or name. RecMac applies the correction to this and every future meeting.
Requirements
Mac with Apple Silicon, macOS 26 or later. Apple Intelligence for minutes and summaries.
